Question and Answer Session was conducted during 4th lecture organized on 2nd May 2020 by the experts Prof. Parikshat Singh Manhas and Dr. Rupam Kunar. Some of the questions remained unanswered during the lecture here are the replies to those questions:
Q1: INCREASE in additional facilities and technologies especially for sanitization will increase the service cost. How will this affect the middle class traveller, will it decrease the number of middle class travellers due to increased cost? (By Deepanshu Singh)
ANS) In my opinion, despite of class, every types travelers will prefer safety and security of their health over cost they will be paying. Every travelers will be pro-actively seeking for better sanitized travel facilities which ensures their safe travels. Travelers will not going to stop travelling but they would rather appreciate the initiatives of sanitization by industries’.
Q2: How to impress the customers who are totally ethical based? (By Rine Aggrawal)
ANS) That depends upon the company’s policies and processes to respect the local cultural and ethical concerns of their customers. Any hospitality company will not harm integrity of their customers, while further provides appropriate services and facilities required by them.
Q3: What is the opinion about job security for Hotel Employees especially in Star Hotels (during Lock Down period)? (By Dr. N Vijaitha Christy)
ANS) The security of the jobs of their respective employees depends upon survival possibility of the company, usually company’s dedicated risk management team analyze the possibilities and according to that, if they require they lay off certain number of employees. Usually, companies tries to lay off contract based staffs first, considering the post-pandemic situation, companies left out no other choices. Alternatively, companies could force employees to go for unpaid leave or forced to take annual leave.
