“The Key to Success in a Post Covid-19 World”
“The Key to Success in a Post Covid-19 World” was the title of the 15th lecture delivered by Prof. Parikshat Singh Manhas, University of Jammu, India, and Dr. Andy Nazarechuk, International Education Consultant in Tourism on 13th June 2020 (Saturday) at 1.00 pm (IST). The participants registered for this lecture, included top academicians, students, and research scholars of various countries like Egypt, UAE, Kazakhstan, Philippines, Malaysia, and India. This "International Web Lecture Series in Tourism and Hospitality" is an initiative taken by Prof. Parikshat Singh Manhas, University of Jammu along with Dr. Ramjit, Department of Tourism Studies, Central University of Kashmir, India and Mr. Nikhil Singh Charak, Assistant Professor, Ambedkar University, New Delhi, India.
At the onset Mr. Nikhil Singh Charak welcomed all the participants and the experts and gave a brief introduction about both the experts and coordinators of the International Web Lecture Series. Prof. Parikshat Singh Manhas initiated the session's proceedings by welcoming the Co-speaker of the session Dr. Andy Nazarechuk & all participants and coordinators of the event. He also acknowledged Dr. Andy’s contribution towards the growth of Tourism sector globally.
The first speaker of the lecture was Prof. Parikshat Singh Manhas, who shared his valuable thoughts with the participants on the theme. He appraised the participants about the latest updates pertaining to Covid-19 and tourism and also emphasized the importance of tourism in terms of providing employment in the coming times. Prof. Parikshat discussed about the Challenges and Key Success Factors during and post covid era for the tourism and hospitality stakeholders. He briefed the participants about the Job Skills required in a Post Covid World. Further, he also apprised them about the various keys to success in a post coivd world such as role of technology, environment friendly travel and the importance of public private partnership.
Dr. Andy Nazarechuk, in his address, talked about the various adapting techniques in hospitality industry post covid 19. He also discussed regarding the new normal which need to be followed in the hospitality industry and the call of actions’. He also presented the various case studies related to hospitality industry. Dr Andy also stressed on the importance of social distancing and improving hotel ventilation in the hospitality industry.
Questions & Answers followed the session by the experts Prof. Parikshat Singh Manhas & Dr. Andy Nazarechuk, who responded and constructively answered the participants' various questions.
In the end vote of thanks was presented by Dr. Ramjit, Department of Tourism Studies, Central University of Kashmir, India
